Farnley Estate is a family-run private estate on the River Tyne, with fishing, wildlife and seasonal sporting interests all forming part of estate life. As we develop the next chapter of Farnley, we are looking for capable, practical and committed people to join the team. These are hands-on roles for people who take pride in high standards, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a small team caring for a special place.
HEAD GHILLIE
We are currently seeking a Head Ghillie to lead the day-to-day running of the fishery and help deliver an excellent guest experience throughout the season. The role includes guiding and hosting rods, casting instruction, beat maintenance and safety, alongside helping maintain the standards and character of Farnley. We are looking for someone knowledgeable, practical, reliable and personable.
ESTATE RANGER
We are also seeking an Estate Ranger to help care for and maintain the wider estate. The role covers estate maintenance, grounds care, security, machinery and equipment checks, boats, paths, signage, boundaries and overall presentation. We are looking for someone practical, organised and self-motivated, with high standards and a good understanding of working in a well-kept outdoor setting.
