WELCOME TO FARNLEY

Farnley Estate is now under new ownership and is being run by the Porter family from Corbridge. Alix and Chris live locally to Farnley with their two sons, Jago and Bruno, and Farnley is a family project.​

Alix was born in Northumberland and grew up fishing on the River Coquet, where her love of fishing first began. With a degree in Wildlife Biology, she brings to Farnley a lifelong passion for the natural world. Chris was brought up in East Africa, where he developed a deep connection to the outdoors, wildlife and wide open spaces. Farnley’s wildness and sense of freedom remind him strongly of Africa.

.Jago and Bruno plan to be closely involved in the estate and share the family’s enthusiasm for fishing, the river and life outdoors. Together, the family’s aim is to care for Farnley properly, offer quality fishing, and encourage more young people to get on the water and enjoy everything the estate has to offer.​  There are exciting plans ahead, and we look forward to sharing Farnley’s story as it unfolds.
